For over 20 years, Emerson has been a leader in accurate thermowell calculating. In 2010, along with other vendors, users, agencies and academia, Emerson helped the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) update the thermowell calculation standard from PTC 19.3 to PTC 19.3 TW.

What is a Thermowell?

Thermowells are closed-end metal tubes mounted directly into process piping or vessels, creating a pressure-tight interface. They enable safe insertion and removal of temperature sensors for maintenance or calibration, eliminating the need for process shutdown or fluid drainage.
